Born 25th July 1896, All Saints, Maidstone, Kent, enlisted 31st August 1915, Maidstone, Kent, age 19, height 5ft 5¾ inches, weight 112lbs, resided 9 Whitehall Place, Maidstone, Kent. Formerly general labourer.

Son of Thomas & Caroline Ring, 18 King Street, Maidstone, Kent.

31st August 1915, enlisted & posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 8th September 1915, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 29th December 1915, posted 10th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 3rd May 1916, posted BEF; 17th June 1916, wounded, gun shot wound right hand; 18th June 1916, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 25th September 1916, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 24th November 1916, posted 11th Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment; 17th June 1917, wounded, gun shot wound; 18th June 1917, posted Depot, Royal West Kent Regiment; 16th January 1918, posted 3rd Battalion, Royal West Kent Regiment.

13th February 1918, discharged  as "no longer physically fit for War Service" due to wounds Silver War Badge issued.

Pension, 27/6 a week for 4 weeks then 11/- a week to be reviewed in 48 weeks.
