24th January 1903, Tunbridge Wells Court - Frederick Piper, hereafter called the Defendant is this day convicted for that the defendant on the 23rd January 1903 at the Parish of Tunbridge Wells, was in a certain highway there situate called Mount Pleasant Road unlawfully guilty while drunk of disorderly behaviour, contrary to the form of the statute in such case made and provided: and it is adjudged that the Defendant for the said offence do forfeit and pay the sum of 14 shillings and sixpence. And in default of payment it is adjudged that the sums due under this adjudication be levied by distress and sale of the Defendants goods and in default of such distress hat the Defendant be imprisoned in His Majesty's Prison at Maidstone and there kept to hard labour for the space of seven days, unless the said sums and all cost and charges of the commitment and of the conveyance of the Defendant to the said Prison, be sooner paid.
24th January 1903, Tunbridge Wells Court - Frederick Piper, hereafter called the Defendant is this day convicted for that the defendant on the 23rd January 1903 at the Parish of Tunbridge Wells, did unlawfully assault and beat Henry Charles Wells, being then one of the Constables of the Tunbridge Wells Borough Police Force and being then and there in the due execution of his duty as such Constable, contrary to the form of the statute in such case made and provided: and it is adjudged that the Defendant for the said offence do forfeit and pay the sum of one pound and do also pay the further sum of six shillings for costs. And in default of payment it is adjudged that the Defendant be imprisoned in His Majesty's Prison at Maidstone and there kept to hard labour for the space of fourteen days, unless the said sums and all cost and charges of the commitment and of the conveyance of the Defendant to the said Prison, be sooner paid.
